Horse Mint Essential Oil

 The genus mint (Mentha) belongs to the Lamiaceae family and includes 42 species, 15 hybrids, and hundreds of subspecies, varieties, and cultivars (Mentha piperita, Mentha spicata, Mentha aquatica, and Mentha arvensis) [1].

Horse Mint essential oil is steam distilled from the flowering tops and leaves of the Mentha longifolia plant. This essential oil generally contains Pulegone, Piperitone, Menthol, Menthon [2].

Horse Mint essential oil is known to have antiseptic, antiasthmatic and antispasmodic properties. It helps to support the immune system and fights secondary infections. It  is  also used for the remedy of coughs, colds and influenza [3].

 

Directions:

Horse Mint essential oil may be applied via inhalation or topically. Before using this essential oil, carefully read Warning & Safety Requirements.

To apply to the skin, do not use undiluted essential oils on your skin.

Used topically, This essential oil can help in relieving rheumatic pains. It can be used to treat wounds and skin infections.

Used in aromatherapy, It can improve the efficiency of the respiratory tract.

 

Suggested Uses:

Try adding it to a bath or diffuser as aromatherapy, or combining with different essential oils to strengthen its effect.

Add to a diffuser:3 drops Horse Mint essential oil, 2 drops Mentha Piperita essential oil, and 3 drops Eucalyptus Globulus essential oil. This mixture can improve the efficiency of the respiratory tract and also can help purify the air.
