Sea Buckthorn Fruit Oil

 Hippophae rhamnoides, also known as Sea Buckthorn, can vary in color from yellow to deep orange or red. As a result of the cold pressing method, thick, dark orange or red-orange liquid with a characteristic smell oil is obtained from the fruits of this plant [1].

Sea Buckthorn Fruit oil composition contains a wide range of unsaturated fatty acids. It includes palmitoleic, palmitic, oleic and linoleic acid. Of all vegetable oils, Sea Buckthorn Fruit oil has the highest content of palmitoleic acid (omega-7) [2].

The two types of oils differ significantly in terms of appearance and properties. The oil obtained from juicy berries is rich in unsaturated fatty acids, while the oil obtained from the seeds is rich in saturated fatty acids. The berries contain vitamin E (110–160 mg%), vitamin A (up to 60 mg%), and B vitamins (B1 up to 0.035 mg%, B2 up to 0.056 mg%, and B6 up to 0.079 mg%). The amount of carotenoids is high. The amount of beta-carotene may be 40–100 mg%, while other carotenoids (lycopene, cryptoxanthin, physalien, and zeaxanthin) may reach 180–250 mg%. The fruits contain phenolic (salicylic, p-coumaric, m-coumaric, p-hydroxyphenyl lactic acid, and gallic acid) and amino acids, sugars, numerous minerals, and flavonoids (flavan-3-ols, catechin, epicatechin, gallocatechin, epigallocatechin, kaempferol, quercetin, isorhamnetin, myricetin, rutin, and proanthocyanidins) [1,3].

Directions:

Sea Buckthorn Fruit oil can be used alone or blended with your other favorite base oil.

This oil is suitable for all skin types, ideally suitable for dry, dull, or mature skins.

Topically,  It is used in cosmetic and massage applications with its antioxidant, nourishing, protective, emollient and regenerating effects. It acts as a moisturizing and anti-aging agent due to its vitamin E, carotenoids, Omega-6 and Omega-t content. It helps to soothe inflammation. With its rich beta-carotene content, it provides a radiant skin. It is an ideal oil for after-sun care. It can help soothe sunburn and relieve irritation quickly.

This oil is ideal for dry, dull or fragile hair.

Suggested Uses:

Add to a 20 ml bottle: 10 ml Sea Buckthorn Fruit oil, 10 ml Avocado oil, 2 drops Geranium essential oil, 3 drops Fine Lavender essential oil, then shake to mix well. Use this mixture as a sun care serum.

Storage Conditions:

Store oils in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight and out of reach of children.
